Desserts, condiments, jams & jellies, salts & rubs, sauces, savory & sweet snacks, and even honey are available with the amazing aroma and taste of bacon.  I remember purchasing strawberry flavored bacon gum.  Sounds absolutely ridiculous doesn’t it?  Well, you should have seen peoples’ faces when I took two pieces out of my purse and then blew bubbles with them. 

I personally like variety, and like changing my choices each month.  Availability allows me to choose from a “bacon is meat candy” menu that sends bacon of the month straight to my home.  Another is more family oriented and the kids love it, it sends the bacon of the month along with pancakes and lastly, the nitrate free bacon.

Oh For the Love of Meat Candy

     I love bacon!  And if that is wrong, I don’t want to be right!  It is a rage right now.  Why wouldn’t it be?  It is crispy, satisfying, mouth watering and has a warm and inviting aroma.   However, it is getting old seeing all of the vegan signs and anti-meat ads out there.  The posers that actually jumping on the cruelty to animal’s bandwagon need to stop.  Seriously, bacon has been consumed around the world for centuries and pigs were not made for house pets…they were made to consume!  Remember when people tried to be smart and bought bacon bits as if it was the best thing for your salads and potatoes?  Yeah, it sounded like an awesome idea to me to have a synthetic material that tasted like bacon consumed by me and my family.  No way!!!

Now, I agree that the pig is a fantastic creature that has an amazing life of eating messy food, rolling around in mud, falling asleep in the warm sun and never caring about his/her weight.  What is it, we want to be like a pig so badly that we eat him because we think subconsciously that we will enjoy life like a pig does and hope that someone will “take us out” in our prime and not when we are too slow to run around anymore?  Nah, I don’t want to be a pig, I just love my bacon and want to consume as much as I can that tastes like the pig.  I now have the ability to eat the ever healthy, 60% pure cocoa chocolate bar that is infused with that bacon smell or curb the craving by using my lip balm that tastes like bacon.

I find it extremely humorous that hundreds of others love bacon just as much as I do.  I mean, we used to just eat it in the morning and now it can be and is used during every meal of the day!  Bacon blogs, bacon cookbooks and bacon merchandise is sold every day.  A new bacon toffee and ice cream have recently erupted and taste amazing!  Thankfully it compliments so many things that it is easy to incorporate in to most meals I create.  Seriously, bacon can stay in your arteries for eternity and true love is only temporary.

It's Time to Buy the Bacon

You know you're going to need it anyway so save some greenbacks and buy bacon in bulk?  Go ahead.  Don't be embarrassed.  Over 59% of Americans eat bacon at least once a day.  Some folks can't have a meal without frying up some bacon to go along with it.  So don't be ashamed to buy lotsa lotsa bacon because you are in good company.

If you like the flavored bacons, there are numerous to choose from and hundreds of suppliers that you can find online. Try Applewood Smoked or Thick sliced peppered bacon.  These come in  packages that can be frozen for later use.  Yummmm

Now when you're talking about buying a lot of bacon you might be thinking about picking up 4 or 5 packages of the grocery store bacon.  And that's all well and good but there is totally so much more to choose from.  And with the many uses for bacon, and no bacon is not just for breakfast anymore, variety is key.  So for all of you bacon afficionado's ---- when ya gotta buy bacon, get the good stuff,  get some variety, and of course you can have a bacon martini during your online shopping.

 I have several chefs in my family and since bacon has become so popular I think I'm going to gift them  with bacon products this year.  Not like real bacon.  That probably just wouldn't do, I mean, they are chefs and can get their hands on some of the best, tastiest bacon in the world.  I'm talking about bacon stuff.  Cool?  Read on...... 

 I mean some of the cute bacon gifts I've been seeing online.  For example I found some really cute bacon and egg bandages that I thought would be really fun.  You know how chefs are always nicking themselves when they get to chopping too fast.  And I found some bacon flavored lip gloss and breath mints that I thought would be cute as a gag gift.  I mean, after all, everyone loves the taste of bacon, and this has far less calories :)

 I also found some bacon flavored toothpicks and dental floss which I think will be a great gift for my uncle who's a dentist.  And bacon soap and bacon gumballs, too.  Man, what WILL they think of next? 

 Bacon gifts are a great idea because they bring out your rebellious side.  Everybody knows how bad it is to eat a lot of bacon – or even eat bacon at all.  So giving bacon gifts is kind of like throwing it in everyone's face, ya know ?  And since everybody in my family appreciates a good, silly gift every now and then, I'm going to make sure everyone gets special gifts of bacon products. I know they will just love them!
